Israel at 75 Celebration: Savor the sounds, tastes, and culture of Israel
April 23, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Come to Rodeph Shalom for this festive celebration of Israel’s 75th anniversary. Everyone is invited. Dance and enjoy Israeli-food, do a mitzvah for food insecure families served by Breaking Bread On Board, and sample the fruits of the vines from Israel’s premiere vineyards.
12:30 – 1:30 p.m.: Israeli dancing takes place and is FREE to all participants. Falafel platters, with all the delicious fixings, are available at $10 per person.
2 – 3 p.m.: Volunteer to stuff and donate spring and summer fun bags for the children and grandchildren of the more than 170 at-risk individuals served by our Breaking Bread on Broad weekly food distribution. These bags will contain colored chalk, crayons, coloring books, stickers, rubber balls, frisbees, card games and balloons, as well as children’s books.
3 – 4:30 p.m.: Learn about wines from the land where the wine making industry began over 2,000 years ago! An oenophile from Israeli Wines Direct will discuss the birth and rebirth of Israel’s burgeoning wine industry and give participants a taste of some of Israel’s most critically acclaimed wines. Attendance at the wine presentation, tasting and light bites is $18 per person.
